28th Annual Marathon of One-Act Plays
In 2006 (while still technically an intern), I produced the Marathon. 13 one-act plays, performed in reperatory over three months, the name truly does reflect the magnitude of the undertaking. I had the opportunity to work with new voices as well as some of the most respected voices in theater. Selected collaborating artists included David Ives, David Mamet, Walter Bobbie, Ruthie Henshall, Scott Cohen, Stephen Adley-Guirgis, Adam Rapp, Jayne Houdyshell, Andrew McCarthy, Liza Colon-Zayas, Carlo Alban, Brian Murray, Will Eno, and many, many more.
This incredible experience was meaningful not simply because it allowed me to work with my heroes, but also because it was the last year in which Ensemble Studio Theater Artistic Director Curt Dempster was alive to oversee the production. Curt was an incredible friend and mentor, and I will always cherish the memories of this production.
